Joy Feagan was born in Alexandria, Virginia but has called Sarasota home since age six. She loves her hometown and jumped at the opportunity to explore its history. Currently, Joy is a third-year student at New College of Florida. Her Area of Concentration is in History, with a focus on post-World War II United States’ culture. She is preparing to write her undergraduate thesis on cultural representations of early Cold War suburbanization. After graduation, Joy plans to take a gap year writing music before attending an American Studies graduate program.
Kana Hummel was born in Miami, Florida. She took this opportunity to explore the history of the community she now considers her second home as well as gain experience in archival research. Currently, she is a third-year student at the New College of Florida studying History. Her area of interest centers around analyzing interpretations of Japan’s history in anime and manga. She plans to explore these interests in her undergraduate thesis next year.
